How does GP Donkoun work?

GP Donkoun connects two kinds of people: those travelling between Africa and Europe, the United States or Canada, and those who have a parcel to send on the same route. The idea is simple: travellers often have spare room in their luggage, and senders need to send a parcel quickly and cheaply. GP Donkoun brings them together, safely.

You have a parcel to send

  1. Search for a trip. Enter the departure city, the arrival city and, if you have one, an approximate date.
  2. Compare listings. For each traveller, you can see their departure date, available weight, price per kilo and trip description.
  3. Unlock the contact. Pay a €5 fee to get the chosen traveller’s contact details. You only pay once per traveller you contact.
  4. Arrange the delivery with the traveller. Agree together on where and when to hand over the parcel, and pay them directly the delivery price shown in their listing (between €10 and €15 per kilo).

You’re travelling soon

  1. Post your trip. Enter your departure city, arrival city, departure date, available weight (maximum 5 kg per parcel) and your price, between €10 and €15 per kilo. Posting costs €10.
  2. Introduce yourself in a few sentences. How often you travel, how flexible you are, what kinds of parcels you accept: a clear description reassures senders.
  3. Receive contacts. Each interested sender pays €5 to get your contact details, and you receive theirs.
  4. Arrange the handover with each sender. Check the contents of the parcel before accepting it: you are always free to refuse a parcel. The sender pays you the delivery price directly.

A real-life example
Amadou is flying from Paris to Conakry on 15 November, with 4 kg of spare room in his suitcase. He posts his trip on GP Donkoun at €15 per kilo (€10 listing fee).

Fatoumata, in Paris, wants to send a 3 kg parcel to her family in Conakry. She finds Amadou’s listing and pays €5 to get his contact details. She calls him to agree on where to meet, then pays him €45 for the delivery (3 kg × €15). The parcel leaves with Amadou on the day of his flight.

Why use GP Donkoun?
Sending a parcel to Africa with a traditional carrier is often expensive and can take several weeks. With a traveller who is already making the trip, your parcel arrives in a few days, for a much lower price.

GP Donkoun only handles the connection: the website never carries parcels and never collects the delivery price, which is always paid directly between the traveller and the sender.

Safe exchanges

  • Your contact details (phone, email) are never shown publicly. They are only shared after the €5 fee is paid.
  • Dangerous, illegal or airline-prohibited items are not accepted. See the full list in our Terms.
